Our founder and producer, Siuli Ko, curated Verankerd?! / Anchored? at the Maritiem Museum Rotterdam, an exhibition born from the universal experience of arriving somewhere unknown, finding a sense of home, or bidding it farewell. Through the lens of migration by sea, the project unfolds as a tapestry of deeply personal narratives from young, mostly Rotterdam-based, makers.
Each maker tells their own story – sometimes rooted in fact, sometimes in feeling – shaped by the perspectives of first, second, or third generation migration. Together, these voices form a collective work created in close co-creation between the makers and the museum, blurring the line between exhibition and conversation.
Verankerd?! is not simply about crossing oceans, but about navigating the inner landscapes of belonging, identity, and memory. It invites visitors to recognise parts of themselves in the journeys of others, and to anchor those connections in the shared currents of human experience.
