Soft(n) is an interactive installation by Thecla Schiphorst, developed in 2004 within a European research consortium including Stoneroos, CharToon, Eindhoven University of Technology, CWI, and V2_, under the lead of Philips. The work consists of a network of soft, sensor-embedded objects that respond to touch and proximity, exploring the relationship between physical interaction, technology, and intimacy. At the time, Soft(n) represented a pioneering investigation into embodied interfaces and the emotional dimensions of human–machine connection.
