International Film Festival Rotterdam – curation Highlights

Status: Completed

Siuli Ko (K.O. Productions founder and producer) led the production of the International Film Festival Rotterdam’s Art Directions program in 2018, 2019, and 2020 — three years of cross-disciplinary encounters where cinema met installation, performance, and sound.

In 2018, she produced Sound//Vision at WORM and V2_, a collision of experimental moving image and live audiovisual performance.

The 2019 edition expanded across seven locations in Rotterdam, featuring Blackout, curated by Julian Ross at Kunsthal, and Rabbit Hole, curated by Inge de Leeuw at Het Nieuwe Instituut, each creating immersive, site-specific worlds for audiences to step into.

In 2020, she produced Synergetic: Transcendental Rhythms at Het Nieuwe Instituut, in collaboration with Inge de Leeuw, alongside G/D THYSELF: Spirit Strategy On Raising Free Black Children by The Ummah Chroma. Even as the pandemic shifted the landscape, the program adapted, extending into a dedicated streaming platform to bring these works to audiences beyond the physical space.
