Siuli Ko had the honour of producing Gabey Tjon-A-Tham’s 2017 solo exhibition at Stereolux in Nantes — a hypnotic encounter with movement, sound, and light.
Gabey’s kinetic audiovisual installations transform the simple laws of physics into strange, organic ballets. Precision and complexity intertwine with unpredictability, generating phenomena that feel almost natural, yet charged with an otherworldly presence. Works such as Red Horizon and ))))) repetition at my distance invite both dreaming and contemplation, guiding viewers into a state where perception becomes fluid and time seems to shift.
